When traders are ready to scale up their trading with iron condors, there are multiple ways of doing so. One way is to increase the number of contracts that you sell, and the other way is to widen the wings i.e. buy further out long options.
We find that by doing the latter allows you to experience much less variability in your P/L and therefore a much more stable income generation than selling a lot of narrow width iron condors.
By selling more narrow width iron condors, you make more money but take on disproportionately more risk.
