Without question, we would all prefer something that is more reliable over something that is less reliable. In a market that is so often riddled with unpredictability and uncertainty, this is certainly true with our trading. Still, as markets move and things change, as we say, we expect the metrics that are in the marketplace to bounce around, too. However, something like theta should be pretty reliable, as it is simply the profits we can earn from the passage of time. But, as Kai shows us today, when he joins the conversation, this is not necessarily the case. Specifically, theta in the first half of an option’s life is not the same as theta in the second half of an option’s life.
