After a wild end to 2018 with the stock market dropping considerably, Frank takes a breather from adding on new trades to talk about managing the old ones now that volatility has calmed in 2019.
With the big bounce in stocks, the kid has been able to take profits in several trades that were leaning long stocks and short implied volatility. Frank mentions the traditional management mechanics before bending the rules to fit the new, more active market. He contends that a more two-side market showing greater volatility warrants more active management, and so he has been taking positions off a little earlier than usual.
