Larry Levy is a serial entrepreneur, a restauranteur, a real estate developer, a venture investor, a philanthropist, and the list goes on and on. Today, his company, Levy Family Partners, invests in real estate, hospitality, and other companies, including Del Taco, Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza, and Peloton, among several others. He is also a man who cares deeply about his alma mater, Northwestern University, and Kellogg School of Management. In 2003 he and his wife, Carol, through an endowment created the Levy Institute for Entrepreneurial Practice for Kellogg students at Northwestern University, where they hold the VertureCat Competition for Northwestern students. And believe it or not, it all started with one restaurant in Chicago 1976, a deli by the name of D.B. Kaplan's.
