This segment, the final segment in a planned twelve part series on constructing and managing a portfolio for accounts of $250K to $2.5 million, builds on the previous segments and then concludes by discussing the concept of managing successes. Every trader can learn from this segment and this series.
A table was displayed of all the current positions in the Top Dog portfolio. The table included the underlying, original price, size and current price. The underlyings included /ES, /TF, GLD, TLT and EEM. A second table displayed the Top Dog portfolio core position with options, the portfolio returns and the S&P 500 returns for three separate time periods, August 18th-September 15th, September 15th to October 6th and October 6th to present.
Tom and Tony discussed what was done in the portfolio and how it performed. It performed better than the broad market which was down. The core portfolio made money and the option plays around the core portfolio added to the returns. They also explained why the portfolio’s design worked.
