Take tastytrade With You On Long Commutes | Podcasts

By:The tastytrade Team

Recently, I started a job with a one-hour commute each way. The Toronto subway system is awesome, but sometimes that hour turns into 1.5 or 2 hours as the train gets delayed and we sit on the platform awaiting instructions.

While everyone else is in a huff and shaking their head with fury and frustration, I’m sitting pretty. Why is that, you ask? Because I have hours of tastytrade podcasts to keep me company, so I can learn options on my own time.

What are Podcasts?

A podcast is a digital audio file that you can download to a computer or smartphone. Podcasts typically are available as a series, so if you subscribe to a podcast from a person or a brand, you’ll receive all episodes of that podcast as they are available, which will download automatically to your device.

To start, search for tastytrade in your podcast app of choice (we list some options below) and hit subscribe when tastytrade comes up. Once you subscribe to tastytrade’s podcast, you can download all of the different episodes they release, all in one place.

Since I work a 9-5 job, during market hours, I download the podcasts onto my phone everyday before I step into the subway station  so I never miss a beat!

Below is a list of popular podcast apps on iPhones and Androids for our listeners. Any of these can be used to download tastytrade content to your phone for your listening pleasure!

  • Apple Podcasts
  • iCatcher
  • Downcast
  • Pocket Casts
  • Instacast
  • Pod Wrangler
  • Castro
  • Overcast

  • Podcast Addict (free - this is the one that I use)
  • Pocket Casts
  • Beyond Pod
  • Doggcatcher
  • Player FM
  • Stitcher for Podcasts

Podcasts are a great way to stay engaged with the markets so we highly recommend trying it out (to see several other ways to stay engaged with the market, check out the blog post here). Remember that when you want to take Tom, Tony, and the rest of the gang with you when you travel, a great way to do so is podcasts!

You don't need an internet connection to listen (as long as you updated you podcasts with the freshest content) so you can literally go anywhere!
